Philadelphia has a ton of great restaurants that serve some amazing food! This is my attempt to try to eat my way through Philly!
After our first exam this year, we headed to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate (our drown our sorrows)!
The escalator leading up to heaven:
I love BBQ and I’m lucky enough that Ana agreed to go to Baby Blue with me! We were also starving so we had to eat everything on the menu!
Paper towels: always a good sign!
We started with the tackle box, a random assortment of apps like chicken wings, fried green tomatoes, and hushpuppies.
Then we split a platter of essentially just meat! We had two different kinds of ribs (they were VERY good), chicken, mac and cheese and sweet potato fries!
It ended up being a perfect amount for sharing! I would definitely go back to Baby Blue anytime! It was delicious!
I’ve heard really great things about Pub and Kitchen’s burger and I decided that I needed to try it out! Since it’s pretty close to our place, Marla and I decided to walk over!
Since we apparently waited for a while, they gave us a free whiskey bread with butter. This was some of the most amazing bread ever! It was beautiful and a little flaky on the bottom. The butter made it even better!
The burger was definitely huge! It was a double patty and I added bacon for an extra $1. It was definitely really tasty but I think that I still prefer South Philadelphia Tap Room’s burger. I would definitely go back though!
Sejal’s friend was in town so we decided to check out Bok Bar. Bok Bar is really cool – the building is an old school that they bought and transformed the roof into a roof top bar. It was a little dark to get a good picture of the skyline but I tried! It was definitely a little pricey but the view was worth it!
My visit to Vnacouver a few weeks ago made me really miss Chinese desserts and so I googled locations in Philadelphia. One of th eonly places that came up wa Yummy Yummy which sells egg waffles and other “fast food” items.
Their egg waffles are very interesting because they also have some unique flavors.
I ended up getting the green tea with white chocolate which was very good! I think the white chocolate made it a little too sweet for me but I really liked the green tea flavor!
I definitely need to head back to Chinatown to eat some more food!
After spending two hours at Marshall’s looking for decorations for Sejal’s apartment, we went to Xiandu for some Thai food! Mancia also joined us as well! I really like Thai food and I think that Xiandu was really good!!!
We started off with two appetizers – the spring roll and the Asian taco with duck (Mancia and I both really like duck and it turned out to be amazing and super filling!)
We also ended up getting pad thai and penang curry which were also fabulous@
And then we ended with some mango sticky rice! We were so disappointed that we ate it too quickly!
Mancia taking a picture for his mom!
Xiandu is now my top choice for Thai food in Philadelphia, but I’ve heard about a few other great places so I’ll definitely have to keep exploring!
Sej, Anh and I went to Zavino’s for happy hour one night. We tried the rosemary flatbread (it came with whipped ricotta) and it was delicious!
We also couldn’t decide on which dessert we wanted so we split both! (I think I liked the chocolate mousse better than the tiramisu!)
I’m glad to have such wonderful ladies in my life!
I love eating poke because it reminds me of Hawaii and when I saw this restaurant that offers it, I knew I had to go!
They have a quite a few different varieties and they make the bowls right in front of you!
I tried the sweet and spicy trio:
Look at this beautiful creation! I also love the orchid on top! Though it was on the expensive end, it was definitely worth the try!
