I went over to Olivia’s place and her and Ali’s cat is adorable! His name is Watson!
Watson likes to sneak into small enclosed spaces. Like this cardboard box!
The other day Anthony told me about this cool restaurant that had moved from Italy to Philadelphia. Every week they have specials that feature a different region of Italy. He was taking his beautiful fiancee Heather there for dinner so naturally we had to crash it (we being the Canadian girls Karen, Olivia and I). Turns out it was the neat restaurant that I’ve passed by a hundred times and have always wanted to try!
We ended up sharing a ton of different food like the arancini.
The broccoli rabe
The caprese mozzarella (burrata has a super creamy inside). I could honestly just eat this for every meal.
The Salume al finochietto (which is fennel) The arrosticini abbruzese (lamb)
The pappardelle al ragu aquilano (delicious and probably my fav!)
And of course dessert! I had an affogato (espresso with fior di latte gelato)
I didn’t get very good pictures of the restaurant so you’ll have to believe me when I tell you that it was quite cute!
Eating here really made me miss Italian classes (as did the waiter’s killer accent)
Definitely on my list of places to eat at in Philly =)
I’m excited because I only have two days of school left! Which means that I get to come home!
In other news I get to visit a location on Nat Geo’s summer vacation list =)

Olivia and I attempted to watch the game at City tap again but it’s quickly becoming my least favorite venue. Not only do they insist on putting the same basketball game on three screens, but any attempt to change the channel takes about half an hour since they have this weird setup where someone has to tell someone else to tell someone else to change it on this tower in the back. So after I tried shuffling all kinds of people around the bar (including all kinds of sexist comments – girls can watch sports too!) so that we could get get a TV where no one was watching anything, we waited forever for them to finally get the game on. But at last success! And the Habs won which was even more exciting!
I would also like to apologize to our server for the hassle. And now we’re known as the Montreal fans…
On Friday morning I randomly found out that Tanya was going to be in Philly for the weekend for a conference which is a huge coincidence since she currently goes to school in Phoenix! I’ve known Tanya for a few years now since we both were TFs in an Orientation once upon a time.
She hadn’t had her first official cheese steak so I took her to Geno’s and Pat’s.
Pat’s was definitely on point this time around… I was quite impressed since I normally prefer Geno’s.
Seriously Tanya has always been the cutest.
Hopefully I’ll get more visitors in the next little while!
Since Olivia is a huge Habs fan, we decided to watch the game at City Tap.
For my entertainment I had the blackened shrimp po’boy. (This definitely made me miss dadeo’s back home!) It was slightly disappointing in terms of food (do they really need to put that much salt on things and the game (habs lost which means they need to win the next 4 games in order to make it to the next round).
I also dragged Wisconsin along with us. I’m honestly really surprised that Wisconsin doesn’t have an NHL team.
Nathan and I were being kind of silly but I love how you can see Olivia’s intense concentration behind us!
